H1 checker: does every page have a main heading?

Every page should open with a main heading that says what it's about. ShipPatrol checks the pages it crawls for one.

Why it matters

Google says the number and order of headings don't matter much for ranking, so this isn't a ranking trick. It matters to people: a clear main heading tells visitors and screen-reader users they're in the right place, and it's often what gets quoted when a page is summarised.

How Patch checks

We count <h1> elements on each rendered page and flag pages with none. Pages with several are fine as far as we're concerned.

How to fix it

  1. Give each of these pages a <h1> describing its content.
  2. Use <h2> and <h3> for sections, and CSS for size.

Your own report goes further: it names the exact pages, services and settings Patch found on your site, and with a full report you get a fix prompt to paste into Lovable, Bolt or Cursor.
