Privacy policy contact details: how people ask for their data

People have the right to ask what data you hold about them, or to have it deleted. They need somewhere to send that request. ShipPatrol checks your policy gives them one.

Why it matters

GDPR and UK GDPR require your contact details in the privacy notice, and most other privacy laws expect a way to make requests. A contact form buried three menus deep is legal but annoying; an email address is better.

How Patch checks

We read your privacy policy for an email address, a privacy contact or a request form, and we look for a plain email address on the policy and contact pages.

How to fix it

  1. Add an email address for privacy requests to your privacy policy, for example privacy@your site.
  2. Say how quickly you reply (one month is the GDPR limit, extendable in some cases).
  3. Make sure someone actually reads that inbox.

Your own report goes further: it names the exact pages, services and settings Patch found on your site, and with a full report you get a fix prompt to paste into Lovable, Bolt or Cursor.
