Page language accessibility checker (html lang)

Screen readers use the page language to pick a voice and pronunciation. ShipPatrol checks the <html> tag says which language you're using.

Why it matters

Without it, an English screen reader may read your French page with English pronunciation, which is about as clear as it sounds.

How Patch checks

We run the axe-core "html-has-lang" and "html-lang-valid" rules.

How to fix it

  1. Add lang="en" to the <html> tag.

Your own report goes further: it names the exact pages, services and settings Patch found on your site, and with a full report you get a fix prompt to paste into Lovable, Bolt or Cursor.

Where this applies

WCAG 2.2 AA is the reference standard.
